Streamline Subcontractor Management with FieldHub

Streamline Subcontractor Management with FieldHub

FieldHub has introduced a comprehensive feature suite designed to simplify the management of subcontractors for customer work orders. This new functionality allows you to efficiently set up subcontractors as vendors and assign them to specific systems and work orders, enhancing your project management capabilities.

Key Features:

  1. Subcontractor Setup: Easily create subcontractor profiles by designating vendors with a “Subcontractor” checkbox. This allows for streamlined tracking and management of subcontractors within your vendor list.

  2. System and Work Order Assignment: Assign subcontractors at both the system type level and individual customer system level. This flexibility ensures that you can tailor subcontractor assignments based on specific project requirements or geographic proximity.

  3. Work Order Management: When creating or editing work orders, a new dropdown list allows you to select from your pool of subcontractors. This list can be filtered based on system type or specific customer systems, providing a targeted selection process.

  4. Communication Tools: FieldHub enables you to send a PDF summary of work orders, known as a “Field Ticket,” directly to subcontractors. This feature ensures that all parties are informed and have access to the necessary details for the completion of the work order.

  5. Customizable Email Templates: The email functionality includes customizable message templates, allowing you to tailor communication to fit your business needs. You can include additional messages in the email, ensuring clear and concise communication with your subcontractors.

This feature suite is designed to enhance your operational efficiency by providing a structured approach to subcontractor management. By using FieldHub, you can ensure that your projects are executed smoothly, with the right subcontractors assigned to the right tasks, and all stakeholders kept informed throughout the process.

Cybersecurity Insights from FieldHub Build25: What Security Integrators Need to Know

We’re still buzzing from the incredible conversations at FieldHub Build25 in Baltimore. While we spent most of the conference diving deep into platform updates and industry trends, we wanted to do something a little different this year – and it turned out to be one of the most valuable sessions we’ve ever hosted.

We brought together an absolutely stacked panel of cybersecurity experts (their words, but we completely agree): Michael Sussman, who chairs Fenwick’s privacy and cybersecurity practice and was one of the earliest leaders in the field; Laura Galante, former director of the Cyber Threat Integration Center; and Jon Lenzner, former chief of staff to the FBI director. Alexis Serfaty, Director of Geo-Technology at Eurasia Group, moderated what became one of the most engaging and practical security discussions many attendees had ever experienced.

When Accounting Goes Sideways

Let’s talk about what happens when your field service platform and accounting software decide they’re not on speaking terms anymore. We’ve heard horror stories from the field: double-billing that damages customer relationships, sync failures that require hours of manual data entry, and that sinking feeling when you realize last week’s invoices never made it to your accounting system.

The Hidden Costs of Outdated Software: How FieldHub is Building the Future of Field Service Solutions

After almost two-decades in the field service industry, first running Urban Alarm and now leading FieldHub, I’ve encountered many of the same frustrations that security and fire alarm installers and integrators face when it comes to the software tools they rely on. The lack of ownership, combined with outdated, piecemeal software solutions, has been a persistent issue. This challenge isn’t just about inefficiency and weak support; it’s about the very foundation on which businesses are built—technology.
